Over three days, male and female rats were given doses ranging from 10 mg to 500 mg, adjusted for human equivalent doses (HED), to evaluate any potential adverse effects and monitor their general well-being, body weight, and food intake.

What We Found: Safety Across the Board

The results were clear and promising. Across all dosage groups, from the lowest at 10 mg to the highest at 500 mg HED, Delta 8 THC was tolerated exceptionally well. Here are some key takeaways:

• No Serious Adverse Effects: There was no morbidity or mortality observed in any group throughout the observation period, a strong indicator of safety at these dosage levels.
• Minor and Transient Effects: Some rats exhibited mild hypoactivity immediately following higher dosages, which was temporary and resolved by the following day.
• Body Weight and Food Intake: Minor weight fluctuations were noted post-dosing but normalized quickly, indicating no long-term impact on metabolic health. Interestingly, food intake decreased slightly the day after dosing but returned to normal by the third day, hinting at a potential regulatory effect on appetite.

With these results, it is clear that 3CHI’s Delta 8 oil – even in extremely high doses – did not pose a risk to significant adverse side effects.
